I'm in denial

According to the New York Times ,
M.I.A. is retiring. She kept saying, "thanks for coming to my last gig" over and over again. Bullshit.
When she performed here in Portland, OR in November 15, 2008, I went to the show because I knew her visa was expiring. I forced myself to go to that show because I knew she wouldn't be back for a while. I kid you not, I dragged myself to her show with a high fever and a headache (I loved every minute of it). The next day, I was hospitalized and that really blew, but her show will live on in my memory FOREVER.

I knew that she loved Portland so much during that concert--you could feel it in the air (along with many beads of hipster sweat). That's why when I heard she was coming back on May 22nd for another show, I knew she wanted to hit up her favorite cities before she wasn't allowed in the U.S. anymore (girlfriend should have taken up Kanye's marriage proposal and stayed).

I consider this a hiatus...
