Mix-Great Monday: M-BeLLs edition part 2

Well technically it's still Sunday, but I wanted to write this blog entry before I forget. Plus I just got done with homework!

1. Song That Speaks to My Soul: My Piano (Radio Mix) - Hot Chip
Hot Chip usually makes really dancey music with awesome beats. This particular song speaks to my soul because of the clanking chords you can hear in the beginning. The chords also trudge along throughout the entire song. They're almost haunting. During one of my piano practices, I actually hammered away trying to figure out the chords by ear because I loved the sounds so much.

2. The Throwback: I Would Die 4 U - Prince & The Revolution
I don't normally like sappy love songs, but Prince is my idol and artistically he is a genius. If you all haven't seen Purple Rain, I highly recommend it. It's one of my favorite movies. I was recently having a shitty day and Purple Rain was on TV and it made it all better.

3. The Guilty Pleasure: Krazy - Pitbull Ft. Lil Jon
I know...I know. Pitbull and Lil Jon?! I wrote a paper against this fool for for my Chicano/Latino Pop Culture class, but I can't front, I like this song. It just makes me instantly happy. I think it's the music. Stefanie and I may need to add this to our Car-Dancing playlist next time we "Cruz" around Portland. Sorry folks, you need VIP for this dance party.
