I've loved Ely Guerra since Lotofire and Sweet and Sour Hot Y Spicy came out. Both albums take me back to my high school days and I'll love them forever and ever. Yes, Maribel did listen to music with real instruments at one time. No 808's and computer music for me during this period. This was during my Rock en Español days. It's true. It happened.
Ely Guerra made it possible for Mexican girls to rock Afros. I was considering cutting my hair super short and getting a perm so I could be just like Ely Guerra. My mom had to be a player hater and shoot my idea down.
