Eyelash Extravaganza

I am obsessed with huge eyelashes. I am a perfectionist and I always need to come correct with mostly everything. This is why my eyelash routine takes up to 20 minutes! I've been on the prowl for the perfect mascara ever since I was 16 and I have yet to meet a mascara that has everything I need (volumizing, zero-clumping, lash-defining, lifting, lengthenng all in one). My friend Gena took on the task of trying Givenchy's Phenomen'Eyes and had a few things to say about it:

While medieval spiked battle flails are cool, they simply can't work themselves into a daily routine quite as nicely as Givenchy's Phenom'Eyes mascara and its ball-shaped brush. I don't normally shell out $27 plus tax for mascara, but at the advice of I Heart Shiny Things own Maribel, you really can't put a price on a good mascara!

This mascara's brush was designed to get every lash, and the forumla is designed to give the lash line a panoramic effect. They completely succeeded on both counts.
The brush is small and nimble and gets to lashes I haven't even grown yet. The formula goes on wetter than most, but as the water evaporates, the polymer goes to work shaping, separating, lengthening, and thickening the lashes. Your eyes not only look bigger, but their shape changes because I promise you, you have never been able to get to as many lashes as you will with this brush!

Two cons I have noticed with Phenom'Eyes is that it only comes in two colors and the brush holds far more of the product than needed so overapplication is easy. However if brown or black works for you, and you watch your portions like menopausal women watch Oprah, then this mascara is amazing.

So there you have it, a personal account. I'm definitely going to go out and try it.

Below is a list of instructions and tips I use for eyelash primping

• Always curl eyelashes first and foremost. Hold for atleast ten seconds for a good curl.
  
• Afterwards, put on a volumizing mascara (I personally like M.A.C. Zoom Lash), then use a lengthening one on the tips before the first coat of volumizing mascara dries. (I like Telescopic Mascara Clean Definition) The results are pretty dramatic.
  
• If I am going out and want even MORE of dramatic result, I sometimes heat my eyelash curler with a blow-dryer for a couple of seconds. I let it cool for a second or two and it works like a curling iron for my eyes. BE CAREFUL!
• Stash baby oil or makeup remover in the fridge to remove mascara.
• Give your eyelashes a rest once in a while!
