Since I missed one Mix-Great Monday, I decided to go ahead and post one today. It's Christmas and I'm in the giving mood.

From the hook to the saxophone! Monie Love was part of Queen Latifah's posse way back in the day and was featured on Latifah's song Ladies First Monie Love was a radio DJ in Philadelphia until she had a heated dispute with Young Jeezy about whether or not Hip Hop is dead. Just for kicks, here's the video that got her fired:

Genie 2.0 - Christina Aguilera
When I watched Christina Aguilera perform Genie in a Bottle 2.0 at the VMA's, 13 year old Marbles was freaking the fuck out. I was more of a Christina than a Britney in middle school. Britney is a performer, but Christina has way more talent. This song brings me back to a good place when Hello Kitty and Tinkerbell stickers were part of my world. (Shut it Scruz!)
