We Totally Got "Milk"

The review is in for Milk. As I mentioned before, we were suppose to go see this film last week. Since I fell asleep and didn't get tickets, we had to wait until this weekend. We decided that seeing movies a week after they come out is so much cooler, we're starting a trend.

So we went to the 9:45 showing, and we settle in our seats with what? hot dogs, buttery popcorn and a fatty soda? Maybe.

Milk, was a very intense movie.

The cast was top notch: James Franco (beautiful), Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna...oh yeah and Sean Penn.

The film style was superb: Gus Van Sant did a great job incorporating real footage into the movie. It made the film feel very real. Also, he did this great thing with reflections. Some scenes were shot completely through reflections (a mirror, a whistle, a TV screen).

This shiz will make you mad: Harvey Milk's story is so inspiring, he fought through so much ignorance. The loss of his life was just a complete tragedy.

Highlights of the film:
  • James Franco. Anything he does is super amazing
  • Diego Luna's hair and his all around ferosh-ness
  • Emile Hirsch's role of Cleve Jones was beautifully acted! The hair and glasses worked for him so well.
  • All the great 70s mustaches
  • San Fransisco

You should definitely check it out!
