Fat Actress

I'm back in my Netflix mode. I was in need of something quick and uplifting. After much browsing and searching I came across Fat Actress. The show stars Kirstie Alley as an exaggerated version of herself, a famous actress with her weight woes. The show only lasted one season (7 episodes on Showtime); it premiered in the Spring of 2005. A little vintage but still very hilarious.

The humor in this show is right on. Kirstie Alley took her struggle and really twisted it in order for her to own it, rather it owning her. This show has "repeat watching" potential all over it. I love random humor and this show has plenty of that. My favorite ongoing storyline was her maybe romantic relationship with Kid Rock, he even guest stars on one episode. I wish the show would have gone on longer, but what was created was pure genius.
