NYC Prep

Why do I do this? I am a lover of guilty pleasure TV that's for sure. If my love for Gossip Girl isn't a bit embarrassing enough, my new love for NYC Prep is. NYC Prep is supposed to the real life version of Gossip Girl (think Laguna Beach as the "real" OC).

I accidently stumbled upon this show on WE (Women's Entertainment, keep up with me). They were giving a mini-marathon of the first few episodes. The show originally airs on Bravo. Now, I'm the nerd who youtubes the latest episodes and watches them, probably with my mouth open with no shame.

It's funny that I'm so enthralled with this show yet all the people on the show make me cringe! These kids, yes they are children, are so snooty and cannot speak in full sentences. All the girls are way drab, you'd think with their money and city of fashion they would look way better. They are no Blair Waldorf. The resident hot stud, Sebastian, is a pseudo-surfer looking kid who wears a really ugly coat. He's suppose to be the Chace Crawford of the group. He's fug and he is not as charming as he thinks he is. A girl he tries to woe, Taylor, is the most brain dead girl of the bunch. She's a total bore and goes to public school, she revolves her life in order to gain social status. Ugh, just hearing/watching her speak makes me want to slap her across the face and say "learn to speak in full sentences, you're not cute!"

PC is suppose to be the Chuck Bass, and he is nowhere near CB's charm, but he is indeed a total ass. Yet, he is the only one who dresses super nice, I'm thinking because he's a closeted gay. I'm sure he puts on a show in order to make better TV and somehow it works because I'm still watching. His BFF, Jessie, is apparantly his "Blair." I can't get over what she looks like. Most of the show is filled with some fuglies, but she takes the cake. What happened to her face? Even with her looks she's one of the least annoying girls (believe it or not) and is able to put PC in check.

So there it is, I admitted that I watch this. I want you all to know that when I watch these shows it's pure research for the blog. Right?
