I ♥ Pandora Radio

Pandora is the greatest invention ever. Here is the idea of Pandora Radio (info taken from Wikipedia)

Pandora is an automated music recommendation and Internet radio service created by the Music Genome Project. Users enter a song or artist that they enjoy, and the service responds by playing selections that are musically similar. Users provide feedback on approval or disapproval of individual songs, which Pandora takes into account for future selections.

I'm always listening to Pandora. Now they have applications for the iphone and blackberry so you can have Pandora on the go. It's the best invention ever. I like to listen to my favorites as well as being surprised. It's truly a treat.

You can make a radio station for whatever mood you're in. Just to give you an idea here are some of my radio stations, I would never reveal this but for the blog I will...it's like looking into my ipod (also, the photo above is a snapshot of my actual Pandora Radio):

I Got A Man Radio
Un-Break My Heart Radio
The-Dream Radio
Postal Service Radio
Daddy Yankee Radio
Pitbull Radio
TV On The Radio Radio
...and plenty more.

Lately I've been listening to the same "Slow Jams" type of radio stations, I just am going with it...

Rip City Uprise

The Portland Trail Blazers are in the 2009 Playoffs, therefore Portland is a legit place for B-ball. I have to say, I've been a Blazer fan for some time, so this is really exciting. Watching them play the Houston Rockets has been very entertaining. All I have to say is that Yao Ming and Luis Scola are gross.
Scola looks like he came from prison.
I'm a super fan of Brandon Roy and Rudy Fernandez. I have no super fan-ess for Greg Oden though.

*I'm so butch right now*

"Girl" Comics

Over this past weekend, I took a Theory of Comic Book's course and found it to be very interesting. We went over Frank Miller's stuff and mainly focused on Batman. The only real pleasure I found from the course was going through old "girlie" comic book covers. I was brought back to my childhood favorites like Betty & Veronica. I've always loved Veronica the most. I think it's probably because she was manipulative, prettier, and rich. She is the epitome of a diva, and I was drawn to that lifestyle. Betty seemed to like church, rainbows, knitting, and baking cookies--not cool. She was a square bear in comparison to Veronica.

My favorite outfit! I wish I could find this ensemble:

And who can forget the Barbie Comics? She and her friends were pretty fly too in the 80's.

My final project will involve Betty & Veronica. I'll be talking about how the patriarchal capatilist system reinforces gender roles through consumerism, and competition amongst women. Or something like that. I'm not sure yet, but I have a vague idea. Although I'll be ripping this comic book to shreds, I still heart Veronica and her fresh steez!

MS-13 Donuts.

We were in NoPo again near the nail place we like to go to. Stefanie and I had some Cha-Nachitos from Cha Cha Cha and decided to go get some donuts to balance out the spicyness of our Mexican food. Sometimes, I need something sweet after feeling like I've been shot in the mouth thanks to lots of salsa and chile.

Just as we entered the donut shop...we see the most magnificant sight. Donuts that look just like the Mexican and Salvi-DeLorean flags right next to each other! It was like a thumbs-up from god!

A Shoe Post.

Lately, I've had a penchant for high heels. They hurt like crazy, but they are so gorgeous to look at. I used to be strictly a flats-and-sneakers person, however the structure of a heel is beautiful. You can't beat the feeling of putting on heels and walking around. Heels = I Feel Pretty! Yeah, I know I'm reinforcing what is considered "feminine" via consumerism, but you know what? I blame society and my mother. I buckled after hearing, "Ay, why don't you dress como una lady?" so many times from my mom.
The best $22.00 dollars I have ever spent! They're a little worn-in now since I danced the night away in them. My feet hurt for a good 2 days, but I looked pretty fly.

Tiffany-inspired Nike Air Max's.

Oh snap! Tiffany-esque colorway you say? I'd rather have these kicks over a diamond tennis bracelet. Gimme!

Let Me Holla Atchu For A Minute.

Since I am a single lady, I was curious to see how I would do on the WHAT KIND OF FLIRT ARE YOU QUIZ? Not like I care that much, I just wanted to see where I stood in case I did decide to go on the prowl. Plus, I really wanted to avoid my homework.

I was expecting something along the lines of, "Shy flirt" or "Coy flirt". No, I got this:

Sadly to say, it's true. I'm quite the go-getter when drunk since my confidence level goes up to 100%. I'm also an amazing dancer and singer which is probably what lures my prey. I also use my drunken state to flex my Spanish and talk about issues plaguing my Chicano/Latino community. Because when I'm drunk, I'm Albert fucking Einstien.

TAKE THIS QUIZ HERE

Scruz urged me to put this on here since it comes on her Pandora radio all the time. Plus she got the same results on her own quiz. :

P.S. Sorry Mom. Love you!

Fast and Furious--We Totally Saw It. Why lie?

Stefanie's sister asked us to join her at the movies and we accepted--even if Stefanie didn't want to go watch Fast and Furious. Personally, I was excited because I was about to get what has been coming since 2001-- closure. 15 year old me went out of her way to see this movie back in the day and she wanted a resolution. So this movie experience was really for her, not present-day 23-year old me ( I swear).

Is it wrong that I enjoyed the soundtrack? It was a Pitbull fiesta for our ears. So wrong, but so right. (buy the soundtrack here)

Fast & Furious Soundtrack

Did this movie offer closure? Yes, it definitely served it's purpose. You'll never get me to admit I liked it. Never. VIEW THE TRAILER BELOW!

"JUST DANCE!"

Dance movies/shows/performances are very amazing and hypnotizing. Not only does one wish to be a bomb dancer, one likes to watch others be bomb dancers. I recently borrowed Step Up from my sister. I've been in the mood for cheese-tastic films that make you say:
"just go with it."
This movie is entertaining and has a whole lot of pretty in it (Channing Tatum). Movies like these don't really need plots or even dialogue, all that is needed is fun dancing and pretty people. So I'm on a mission: to watch Step Up 2: The Streets. I see that Channing Tatum has a dance battle in this flick! Uh ya, I watched the youtube of this, but I know that it does not do it justice.

So why don't guys like this exist in $cruz & Marble$ world? WHY? We only get the trolls, ya I said it.

Kenan Made This Funny?

Kenan Thompson is not one of my favorite SNL-ers, but this delivery of a line really got me. Watch the whole thing, it's pretty funny but if you can't handle it fast-forward to 1:52.

Graduation is near and with that comes GIFTS!

GIFT Idea#1:
Valentino Rose Couture Dome Bag in Red

Marbs and I took a nice walk today. We are trying to bring new and positive energies into our lives, one way of achieving this is by taking strolls through the city of Portland during semi-pretty Spring-ish weather. As we walked not only did we walk through a movie being filmed but we entered Nordstrom. We looked at the essentials: shoes, perfume, & bags. I saw this Valentino bag and almost cried because of its beauty. It's perfect for my Rose obsessed life! So it costs $2500. So you have until June 13th to save up enough money for this bag, mmmkay?

Gift Idea#2
Flora by Gucci
I discovered this perfume on a previous trip to Nordstrom, this time with Elda. We were walking around the perfume area, when I noticed a perfume I'd never seen before. We both sprayed it on us and we fell in love. As many know, the scent of a perfume does not smell exactly the same on every person. It works with the individual. So basically, I fell in love with the perfume...on me! Ha! Elda called dibs on this perfume, but I'm putting in on the blog so people are aware that they should buy it for me.

I know these gift ideas are pretty far out there, but a girl can dream right?

Mix-Great Monday: Marble$

Let's start our week off right! You ♥ Mondays thanks to us.

1. SONG THAT SPEAKS TO MY SOUL:

I Drive Alone - Esthero
I was so moved when I heard this song. I just love everything about it. It spoke to my soul at a time when I needed it to. You tell no one.

2. THE THROWBACK:

I Wonder If I Take You Home - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam;Full Force
I needed to post the video because I feel the visuals are amazing. First, you have Lisa's cotton-candy pink outfit which is hot. Second, where can I find a man like the one featured at the 1:34 minute mark of this video, and can I take him home? Watch him as the video progresses, around 2:00 minutes he is a dancing machine!I love it!

3. GUILTY PLEASURE:

Britney Spears - Toy Soldier - Britney Spears
I fell for another Britney jam. I know...I need to stop listening to her music. It's like candy! Don't judge me.

Like A Boss

I'm sure Stefanie has probably seen this. My friend George sent it to me and it gave me a good laugh.

Hater Thursday: White Girls Reciting Rap Lyrics

I know we haven't been doing the Hater Thursday posts and we're sorry. Personally, I just didn't want to spew negative vibes and ran out of inspiration. But now I've got mental clarity, so without further ado, let's get our hate on and call out stupid people.

In high school, I ran with a party posse that was up to no good (only for a good minute). In particular, there was one girl (that I was FORCED to roll with) that insisted on rapping Bone Thugs N Harmony lyrics. I think she was trying to impress the boys, but she made me sick to my stomach. She would drop the 'N' word like crazy! This girl was blond and blue-eyed!

I know we've blogged about Anne Hathaway and Havoc before, but use this Youtube as an example of what I am talking about:

I have nothing against white girls rapping. I'm sure there are a lot of talented people out there. Just make sure you're good at it before you open your mouth in public. Here's an example: Meet Amanda Blank around the 2:57 mark.
I want to see her live so badly!

I'm a Career Girl!

My next move that I will make in life will be to get a "big-kid job" after I graduate. How appropriate would this briefcase be? The answer is: very appropriate, go and buy it Marble$.
I have to transform myself to Mari Tyler Mora (The Brown version of Mary Tyler Moore, yo!)

Considering that Portland is one of the shittiest places to find a job, I may have to become a Jehovah's Witness just so that I can "spread the word" while toting this adorable briefcase. Gotta justify my purchase somehow!

I Will Be Fancy One Day

I always said that money would make me happier, I don't care what anyone says.  So my plan is too marry for money, a silver fox to buy me a loft downtown somewhere and pay off my student loans.  I said that I would wear Chanel from head to toe and organize charity events.  But along with that I'd keep it raza and eat pupusas and use Suavitel.
While in Las Vegas, I passed by the fancy stores and fell in love with this window display.  I will be the one on the left one day.

Also, I passed by the Gucci store and fell in love with this bag.  My beat up old blackberry camera does not do it justice.  I swear it glowed like the lights from the heavens.  Ya I just said that.

$CRUZ was in Las Vegas

I took a family trip to Las Vegas this weekend.  Very entertaining, stressful, and interesting.  Las Vegas is like Douche Bag central.  I'm not talking about Las Vegas natives, but all the visiting a-holes from around the world.  I saw so many indoor sunglasses, popped collars, man-flops, crazy weird facial hair, etc.  I noticed a trend to all these dudes.  There were always groups of about 5, and there was one crazy fat one that they keep around to make fun of.  They talk about being drunk, or not remembering stuff, or they are high-fiving one another.
Basically it's a classy place...uh no.
Vegas has fun lights and the slot machines are too addicting.  But overall, my trip was good.  Oh!  How could I forget, I saw Carrot Top.  He and I had a moment, and now we are bff.  Seeing a random Las Vegas celeb: CHECK

Below are photo documentation of my observations:
